It's 03:12. I've played this record four times and I'm going to play it a fifth, and I need you to understand that this is not a problem, it's a method.
Side A is the one everyone talks about. Side B is the one that gets you. Track three has a bassline that arrives late, like it doesn't want to be there, and then stays for the rest of the song and ruins you. I've been ruined by it since I was nineteen.
The shop closed at two. I should have gone home. Instead I'm sitting on the floor between the Ks and the Ls with the neon still buzzing, writing this instead of texting you, which is arguably worse.
Actually — here's what I want. Listen to it tonight, wherever you are, and then tell me one true thing about it. Not “good”. Not “nice”. One true thing. If you can do that, I'll play you the next one, and the one after that, and eventually you'll know what I sound like when I'm not being difficult.
